THAILAND Itinerary of Vacation activities

  • Day 1 : Departure from New York

Today we take our flight to the beautiful land of Thailand.

  • Day 2 : Arrival in Bangkok

Upon arrival at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, you will meet your guide and be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to start discovering Bangkok.

  • Day 3 : Bangkok city tour

This morning, you'll meet your guide at your hotel at 8:00 a.m. to delve into Thailand's Buddhist culture. Start your morning with a trip to Wat Pho, which is one of the most charming temples in Bangkok. Upon arrival, the resident monks gather for their morning chants and witness this deeply spiritual ritual to gain insight into Thailand's Buddhist heritage. After the chanting, take a stroll around Wat Pho and see the extensive collection of religious treasures on display. Admire the famous reclining Buddha image, 45 meters long. Learn the symbolism of Buddha's intricate footprint and witness devotees making offerings to this revered image. We will continue to the nearby Grand Palace, which has been the seat of the revered Thai royal family for more than two centuries. Take a stroll through the vast grounds and stop to explore the various temples, throne rooms and museums on site. Visit the Emerald Buddha, Thailand's most revered Buddhist image, and learn about its mysterious origins. Tonight you will experience the romance of Bangkok in style on the luxurious Manohra rice barge cruise, which has become one of Bangkok's best dining spots. As you cruise along the Chao Phraya River, you'll see the impressive Temple of Dawn, the illuminated Grand Palace, magnificent temples, amazing bridges and other iconic landmarks of Bangkok. This cruise offers a truly memorable nighttime experience in Bangkok. As you cruise down the river, you will enjoy a sumptuous, five-course dinner. After the cruise, you will return to your hotel. Dinner on the Manohra Cruise is based on united service.

  • Day 4 : Half Day at Klongs with Temple of Dawn and Royal Barge Museum and Floating Market

Today, you'll meet your guide at your hotel and take a long-tail boat through Bangkok's canals to discover the true heart of the city. Start with a walk along the Chao Phraya River, also known as the "river of kings." Admire the passing skyline, where gleaming pagodas rise from the shadows of towering skyscrapers. The boat then deviates from the main waterway to enter the canals or "klongs." Discover why Bangkok is often called the "Venice of the East" as you navigate the intricate network of canals. Glimpse small towns on the water's edge and enjoy a slower pace of life away from the city center. Stop at the Royal Barge Museum. See the eight spectacular vessels used by the Thai royal family to celebrate special occasions. Carved from teak and decorated with gold leaf and mosaics, the barges are a truly impressive sight. Afterwards, return to the boat and cruise down the Chao Phraya again for a final stop to see Wat Arun, a 79-meter-high pagoda built in a style similar to that of Angkor Wat. Wat Arun, meaning "Temple of Dawn," is one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand and the perfect last stop of the day. Visit the Train Market, probably the most exciting fresh market in the world, as trains pass through the center of the market eight times a day. Next, depart for DamnoenSaduak Floating Market, where you will see the traditional way of selling and buying goods in Thailand. Ride the longtail boat to the main part of the market. Stroll through the market to see local craft products. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Climb the stairs to see the exquisite golden stupa and learn about Thai Buddhist beliefs.

Afterwards, continue deeper into the hills, traveling by songtaew, a local truck. Drive along dirt roads to the Chang Khien Coffee Research Project. Enjoy a fresh cup of locally grown Arabica coffee and learn about the north's booming coffee industry. Next, you reach a village inhabited by the white Hmong tribe. Spend time exploring the village, meeting its inhabitants, and learning about the traditions and customs of this unique ethnic group. After this interesting village visit, return to the songtaew and drive back to Chiang Mai. You will be transferred to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Recommended type of clothing

Appropriate attire is casual, comfortable and beachy. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes (at least two pairs). It is also advisable to have swimming supplies and clothing, if you wish. For holy sites, even in summer, it is advisable to cover up to the knees (that is, without shorts), arms and shoulders (shirts), and, in some places, cover the head with some type of mantilla, shawl, or handkerchief. If you want to dress in shorts and/or sleeveless, always have a “modest” alternative to cover up when necessary. Hats are essential in hot weather and in places with beaches. Although it is a tropical climate, a light jacket is needed for the evenings and maybe a little rain. Wear appropriate clothing if you are baptized, as well as if you are renewing your marriage vows. Don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen!
